I thought I'd post this and see what sort of interest and offers I could get for it. This is a fully pimped and absolutely gorgeous JYD. It has had the original scales swapped for thick green Micarta scales, the blade has been acid and stonewashed, the clip has been reshaped, the flipper has been modified, a choil has been added, and the liners and clip have been heat anodized bronze. It is barely even recognizable from a stock JYD.
This was a knife I bought stock a little over a year ago, carried a few times, and never really took to it. It was a great knife, especially for the price, but the aesthetics never really set well with me so it sat on a shelf. Then, while discussing possible pimping or knife making projects with fellow knife aficionado/pimper/maker, this JYD came up. We discussed possible options, I left it in his hands, and this is what turned out. This knife deserves a home where it will be carried and used. In favor of full disclosure, remember that despite the drastic aesthetic improvements that it isn't totally perfect. It was lightly used before it was pimped, the lockup is very late, and there is slight lock rock. Nothing that even vaguely affects the use or enjoyment, but it is there and anyone interested should know. Other than that, she's a beast. Fires open quickly, has a gorgeous mirrored edge (14c28n polishes better than any other steel I've ever handled), and will hopefully be owned by someone who can give it more pocket time than me.
I'm not really sure on a cash value- pimped knives are sort of outside of my realm but given the stock knife and the amount of modifications and work put into it I think $150 is a good starting point, but I'll always listen to offers.
