Pin suppliers?

Hello.
I need to find a stainless steel rod/pin at diameter 0.197" and length of 0.290".
It needs to be threaded for 2-56 screws (I have no lathe or lathe access:().
A longer length is fine, as I can cut it shorter.
Does anyone know of a supplier, or have something like that themself? I've tried Knifekits and Texas Knife supply so far with no luck.
Thanks.

What i'm picturing from your description is a pin with a female threaded hole in it?

I'd call that a threaded bushing, or threaded standoff or something like that.

10-56 thread, is non SAE standard and would have to be custom machined

and

a threaded #10 hole in a .197" diameter pin seems like it would be either very very thin walls, or not possible
ie
a 10-24 tap drill is .1495" about .0235 on each wall side - seems like the tap would be cutting through it

Am I missing something ?

You want 2-56 thread ?
Spine - back spacers for a folder?

That is what I'm picturing.:)
You're right about the hole though...I meant 2-56 (durp!)
Going to edit the original post to correct my mistake.

Yep, looking for it as a folder part, a stop-pin replacement to be precise.

So, no one knows where to find such things?

I searched a but, but it would be custom

those standoffs in 2-56 are pretty rare, 4-40 is the most common smallest size

then they would be standard diameters, .1875 and .250

then they would be standard lengths .250 and .375

and so on

If you're lucky you can get close or oversize on the dimensions and change them
but then work holding is an issue
length is pretty easy to change,
but diameter means you need s straight mandrel to hold it and 2-56 is very small....

Find somebody local with a small precise lathe that works for beer...

Get some 5mm stock and just drill and tap it, if you have a drill press or a mill it is doable

I found some rod material at Knifekits.com which is 0.196" diameter (close enough:)), but unforunately I have neither a lathe nor a drill press nor a mill.:(
All I have is a Dremel and a 2-56 tap.
