Pine Creek Canyon, Zion NP

The best part of this slot canyon is the free hanging 100 foot rappel at the end.

A weird thing happened at this point. I went down first. Rappeling into over your head cold nasty water isn't that great. When my friend Dave came down (guy in the water) a baby bird landed on my shoulder. I looked at it and it flew into the canyon wall and fell in the water. Dave tried to save it but couldn't. Birds shouldn't go in slot canyons.

Except for this Mexican Spotted Owl.

This is where you make the 100 foot rappel. I went down last.
