Again, I had permission from SPARK to post it in this manner as the item is from my PRIVATE COLLECTION!

Fix the thread to the way it was originally and issue an apology for screwing with it!

I can understand that you might be a little upset by the editing of the thread, but asking politely might get you a little farther.

I asked the H.P.I.C himself how to post these items WITHOUT offending anyone because Yes, I am also a Dealer.
These items are from my PRIVATE COLLECTION and were posted as such as suggested by SPARK HIMSELF!
.....and yet the threads get labelled as spam anyway?
Gee....pardon me for being a bit upset. :)

It's water under the bridge, and I have no dog in this fight, but if you just wanted to put something up as an individual, probably best to not post with a link to your commerce site in your signature, if you wanted to represent yourself as an individual.

Editing my "Signature" (which I neglected to turn off myself) might have been the appropriate fix instead of messing up the whole thread.......like I had an alterior motive or something! :(

There really is no way for anyone to know whether those knives are from your "private collection" or not. Do you really expect us to take your word for it? Unless we hear it from Spark himself that he had given you permission I imagine your thread will stay edited. If it bothers you that much I would suggest ponying up for a Dealer Membership or remove the link to your site because as it stands now it looks like you are a dealer trying to get around the rules of forum. I also wouldn't be badmouthing a mod for doing his job. If Cougar was not informed of your so-called arrangement with Spark then you can't fault him for acting upon what he perceives as SPAM. I would have done the same thing. Badmouthing a mod is also a sure way to get yourself banned so stop doing it. Take it to email or PM him to find a resolution.

After reading this thread after it modified, I became very curious on why it was modified by moderators. I was curious to see your private collection.
Are your knives that on the site that is part of your signature all part of your private collection?

selling the items on your dealer forum on another website probably didn't help with the confusion though

No, they are not. The Dobruski and this particular PINOY were not on the site.

The two items posted are NOT on my website.

Sure, I'll spend $850.00 just so my "signature" can stay

Did that, no reply.

It turns out Spark actually did tell him it was okay, so I want to apologize to sparky703 for calling him a spammer. He is entirely blameless.

As for Spark, well, maybe he didn't get enough coffee that morning ... or maybe it was early-onset Alzheimer's.... Long ago we used to allow dealers to sell knives in the individual forums if they said it was from their private collection, but it was abused so much we had to stop it.

So what is the ultimate verdict on this situation?

The ultimate verdict is the posts will not be restored, because if we let one dealer do it once all the dealers would want to do it all the time and we'd end up with the individual forums flooded with dealer ads again -- but sparky703 is not a spammer; he is not even a newbie who blundered into the wrong forum -- he is a newbie who asked and was given the wrong information. Not his fault.
