This is an original, one-of-a-kind Pinoy style Balisong made by Matt Cook at the beginning of his butterfly knife work. This knife is over 18 years old, stamped late June of 2002. I do NOT recommend this as a flipper, as I will explain. This knife was at the start of him messing with Balis, but despite it's age it is in rather good condition still and doesn't have much play. A beautiful 3 inch Damascus blade pinned in place by solid brass handles with what I believe is an ironwood, if memory serves me. There's two things to note: There are biting marks in the bite handle, meaning if flipped the blade is probably clapping inside, but no clapping on the safe handle. The latch has a little bite, but not too bad. The brass in certain areas of the handle have aged, so there are some spots of green, but only on the exterior of the bite handle. Don't mistake this knife as a representation of the great work he does today, this knife was made at the very start of his work in this field and should be based on that.
This knife is definitely more for the historic value and representation of how far it's maker has come, and the stamped date and original Pinoy logo on the blade cements this knife's legacy in the Cook history. Asking price is $1000 shipping and insurance included, price is negotiable, if you have any questions about the knife please feel free to PM me!
