Pint sized pen knives, the 305 lancer club

Here's my contribution. I fished this one out of the 'bay many years ago and can't bring myself to take the price sticker off of it. I believe Phelps Trustworthy Hardware in Phelps Michigan is still in business. The cost seems a little steep for a 2002 knife, but Buck's MSRP was $26!

This one is Camillus made. bertl bertl , where can I find the Toft and Heflebower classification for the 305 - any idea which version this is?

Last is a charcoal ComfortCraft 306 Duet from 2011. If you would like to see this one out of the package and opened up to show the scissors, I'd be glad to free it from its clamshell.

Nice examples.

It looks like the package on the duet was already opened why not, I'd love to see more of that one.

I tried to send the info via a PM but was told I can't start a conversation with you.

Here is some information for the standard 305 with black Delrin/Valox through 1998. Beginning in 1999 knives had a hollow grind. The information for the 300 Series started with Charles Tofft and then was updated by Craig Heflebower. I changed the format, but didn't really add any new information.

Thanks for posting this great resource, bertl! This is such a valuable contribution to the 305 club. It looks like my older one is a 5th version, the last of the Camillus made Lancers. I would not have guessed there were so many variations. I don't get PMs without a paid subscription, but I may have to rectify that situation...after 9 years of perusing this awesome forum!

Any more stag 305's in the hands of members who can post pictures for me to drool over?

That's going to be the hardest one I'm currently aware of for me to check off my list, I'm sure anything I don't even know about yet will be harder to come by.

The only one I have is part of my Chairman Signature Set.

Ah yes the chairman, that one is fairly high on my list.

Don't you just hate when you're having to track down something that you could have ordered new only a few years ago ?
The chairman, charcoal diamondwood, and brass & diamondwood 305's I never bought because I hadn't discovered the 305 yet.

Then theres the bald eagle 525 gent, so many times I held off on ordering one from the SMKW catalog figuring I'd order one next time.
They're common enough and not particularly pricey, but always pop up at the wrong time.

I have never seen a 305 in person. Would the be the same size as the 375 Deuce?

This was when Camillus still made the Buck 305. I doubt if the current custom shop would work on a Camillus made Buck.

Bert
Yeah I understood that, but I wonder how it worked.
Did they have to replace the covers, or receive partially finished knives with no covers?
