Pioneer or pioneer x

The cadet is one I never tried
I think I gravitated more to the cadet 2 which was discontinued.

But I will admit to being curious about a cadet x

The inline Phillips is one of my favourite SAK features. I wish it was more common.

My knuckles developed an acute aversion for a Phillips located where the bottle opener is. To the point where I won’t but any model that has that feature.
I untied many knots with the bottle opener.
The inline phillips its the only way I’ll use it.

I've personally found the Pioneer X to be the perfect SAK for my urban needs. I used to EDC a Hunstman or Fieldmaster on most days, so the Pioneer X is a bit thinner. I stick it in a back pocket and forget it's there. Having the in-line awl and scissors on the same SAK is fantastic.

I heard recently there is going to be a 2 layer 93mm Alox Voyageur coming sometime in the near future. I would carry that over the Pioneer X because it's thinner and lighter. Not really a fan of 3 layer 93mm Alox stuff

Where did you hear that? That would be very interesting if it comes to pass.

I too prefer the 2-layer Pioneer. Scissors I have not much, if any use for. But that is just me.

I switch back and forth between the Pioneer and Pioneer X. It depends on what I'm doing and where I'll be.

I carry a Compact when I go to Albq maybe twice a month. Otherwise it's a Pioneer , Spartan, Tinker.
