Pipe Hawk From A Ball Peen Hammer

Here's a pipe hawk that I forged from a 32oz. ball peen hammer. The head is 7 1/2" high with a 2 1/2" cutting edge. The white oak haft is drilled and 18 3/4" long. It also has an iron end cap with a threaded brass clean out plug. This hawk is can be smoked.

Thanks for looking.

I love the pipe hawk you made for me.Great smoker.I can't wait to get my hands on my new bear claw spike hawk.Love your work.

That's really nice!! , I would love to get one of your hawks someday, Living in PA, in my area there's alot of French and Indian war history, It would just seem fitting ro own one of your's.

It vexes me not to be able to offer at least some constructive criticism, but from what I see in the pix, it is beautiful! I cannot see a thing that i'd change; not a line, not a thing!
From a ball-pein hammer? Very nice.
Your hammer hawk reminded me of a tomahawk/thrower i once whacked out of a hot Estwing framing hammer (sans the claw). It is very crude beside your work, but I appreciate the contrast. I hope the you don't mind an included a snapshot.
Again, very clean work!
How does it work?
