im thinking of getting a CS pipe hawk and, modding it to look kinda traditional.
how do you guys think i should make a heart cut out? im thinking about moving back from the tempered edge and drilling 2 holes side by side and then dremel or file the point of the heart. i have alot of ideas spinning in my head for this hawk, heart cut out, patina, brass tacks ect....any input is welcome. all these new CS hawks have my creative juices flowing :D

The edge is heat treated to about 1 1/4 inch from the cutting edge then it starts getting pretty thick. It would be a neat mod, go for it.

Regards

Robin

For a mod you will remove the paint anyway (at least I'd do it). After you have cleaned up the grind marks you can etch the head and the temper line will stand out showing you where you can drill into the unhardened part.
