Forged from 1 inch square solid mild steel with carbon steel bit forge welded in. Sealed to handle with buckskin gasket.
Hand filed mouldings and chevron. Hand engraved sun one side and hunter's
moon and stars other side. Brass end cap with file work and engraved dogwood flower. Clean out plug from antler tine. Handle handmade from white ash.
Pour in place pewter wedding bands and mouth piece.
Head and handle lightly aged to give antique look and feel.
Head length 7 3/8 in. Blade width 2 3/4 in. Handle length 19 in

I like it, except I wish the mouth piece was more lip friendly, since it is a smoking pipe for them special moments at the Rendevous or ??? It has possibilities for more decoration to an Indian or mountain man theme. Yes it is nice an traditional looking piece with potential for added enhancement. wow!!!
 
I like the clean, unfettered look.
are pipehawks strictly for ceremonial/smoking use, or are they sturdy enough to chop ?
