I was wondering if it's possible to block a member from just messaging you? There is a member named "Pipeman" who was trolling one of my for sale posts. I told him to stop clogging up my thread and that he was violating forum rules and yet he continued to post. He then PMs me about 6 times with a bunch of crybaby stuff. Annoying to say the least.

Three days later, out of the blue, he messages me again about one of my earlier posts to another member and friend, who is also a custom maker, which was totally unrelated to him or our exchange about him trolling my for sale thread. I seriously think this guy is a little unstable, going out of his way to take the time read my earlier posts and messaging me three days later, dwelling on something that he was totally in the wrong about in the first place.

My question is, is it possible to block a member from only messaging you? I know you can put someone on your ignore list, but will that also make it so I don't see "Pipeman's" posts? I still want to be able to see his posts because he is ridiculously amusing to me. I just don't want him to be able to PM me, because it is getting annoying.

Put the person on ignore.
Go to their profile, on the left side you can see options for:
Add as Friend Add as Friend
Send Private Message
Email Send Email
Add to Ignore List
Find latest posts
Find latest started threads
View Articles
View Blog Entries
View Conversations

The person doing the harassing via email or PM should also note that it can lead to a ban.

Holy cow! This guy needs some meds! I should have heeded your advice Rev. I thought me telling him to stop PM'n me and that he looked stupid dwelling on this three days later would actually get him to move on with his life, so I didn't put him on "ignore" immediately. Well, he's since sent me another nasty PM. He is on ignore now!!

Can a mod maybe please look at this and ban this guy? Or at the very least, send him an infraction? First, he trolls my FS post, then he's reported and the comment is deleted. I specifically tell him to not continue to post on my FS thread, which he just blatently ignores. Then he repeatedly PM's me. I finally think it's all past and three days later he is still dwelling on it and goes out of his way to PM me again to start sh*t out of the blue. This guy has violated BF rules, and continues to violate them after they are pointed out to him. This guy is unstable & has gone out of his way to harass me. He needs to be banned!
 
At the bottom of a PM there is a small triangle with an exclamation point in it (next to the "Forward" button) just like the one at the bottom of posts. Click that to report any problematic PMs.
 
Kiah's right. When you see a bad post in your sale thread or anywhere else, Report Post with that triangle icon and we can handle it routinely, without you even getting upset. Harassment earns infractions. (We try not to ban too many people too quickly though!)

Thanks Kiah & Esav, I actually just learned about the triangle-exclamation icon today. When Pipeman first started in, I did report it via PM to Revdevil and he was nice enough to delete Pipeman's post, but then even after the post was deleted and Pipeman was asked not to post in the thread, he still posted in the thread some more and continued to harass me via PM.

The more disturbing part is three days had passed and this was all ancient history, and he decides to start in on me again via PM's. The guy needs some counseling...
 
Listen. I posted in his thread to help him. My entire post consisted of these words, "They made 33". That was it. Mr sweetleaf then barraged my with nasty foul mouthed PMs and a tutorial on Not posting in sales threads other than for purchese interests. He then Posted in another forsale thread with No interest in the knife. I have been on this forum for years and never have I entered a thread to be an annoyance EVER. NOW, would you MODS like the PMs This Person sent me?? I am tired of having my character questioned.

You are both welcome to report any harassing PMs so that the mods have more to go on than he said/he said and you are both welcome put the other on ignore and go about your lives. Perfectly understandable to be upset, but "He did it!/No, he did it!" in Tech Support isn't gonna accomplish anything.
 
I have sent some of his PMs to Esav. I replied to his abusive PMs but I'm not able to retrieve them. Maybe Mr sugarleaf would like to supply my replies to esav. I have nothing to hide. I was trying to help this person and was attacked for my help. I'M TIRED OF THIS.

If the option is active, your replies should be in the "Sent" folder here.

If it's not active and you would like your replies to people to be saved in the future, click here. About halfway down the page is a "Sent private Messages:" option. Click the box next to "Save a copy..." and then scroll down to the bottom to apply the change.

You violated rules, your post was deleted, you were told not post in the thread again, you ignored that and continued to do so, and then barraged me with ridiculous PM's. If that weren't enough, days go by and out of the blue you want to start in on me again with nasty PM's. Every single PM I sent you was a response.

The mods have access to all the PM's and I have every right to respond to your unsolicited PM's and tell you where to stick it.

And your point about me complimenting a custom makers work on their for sale thread has no bearing on what we are talking about here. I was not told by that maker to stay off his thread and then, blatently ignored that. I am not barraging the maker with nasty unsolicited and unprovoked emails, only to start up days later again in doing the same thing when the matter was long done and over with. You need meds my friend.

I am going to compile the entire stream in verbatim along with the timeline as well and send it to Kiah, Esav and Rev, so nothing is "skewed". Bottom line is he crashed my for sale thread, ignored requests to stop posting and PM'n me and continues to do so days later. Every PM I sent was a RESPONSE. The only reason this is even an issue right now is because of HIS actions, period.
 
I'm a Sheaths & Such mod, simply helping out in TS as time permits. Please don't send me anyone's PMs, I'm not gonna rummage through 'em.

And the mods also have in verbatim all the foul-mouth nasty PM's you sent me. Only difference is, mine were RESPONSES to yours. Don't get it twisted here and make it sound like I barraged you with PM's. I never sent one single PM to you that was not a response to your trolling. That is a fact. Every single PM I sent you was a RESPONSE to YOUR barrage of troll PM's and posts to my FS thread. So, if you'd like to enlighten the Bladeforums community following along here, I never did hear your explanation on why it's ok for you to send me nasty troll PM's, completely unsolicited & out of the blue after three days.

Oh, I got it. You don't have one... because you are in the WRONG.
