Pipes and Traditional knives (cigars welcome)

I'm thinking of investing to pipe soon on my summer vacation. I am drawn to churchwarden for many reasons.

A HOT MUGGY 98° day today, cooling down now that evening is approaching. Watching the clouds and enjoying a La Unica 400 on my deck with my Vanreenen Zulu:thumbsup:

I have a question for you "more experienced" pipe smokers. I have been using either a Czech tool or my Case Peanut for tamping, prodding, etc., but I would really like to have a pipe tool more suited for my own old-soul tendencies, and that would look good for a pastor to carry. (I just graduated Bible college, and I'm working as a pastor's assistant while in seminary). Any suggestions?

I've heard of ecclesiastical framed pushbikes, but no pipe tool yet :). Could this kind of vintage english model possibly take on this noble task? The lower (widest) part is spring actuated, while the upper one unscrews .

That is incredibly cool! Where would I go about procuring something like that?

Definitely not a great pic. I took it to upload on a pipe forum to show how I'm making a churchwarden out of one of my cobs with a reed. Figure I'll put it up here too.

I'm looking for an affordable Billiard that would look like a traditional English pipe. Any suggestions?

I think the style is a "church warden". I have no clue who made it though. There are many available.
'Tis indeed, I have two churchwardens. :) I like them a lot for having a pipe while reading. Was wondering which one (model) this was. It has a nice sharp curve to the stem which would keep the pipe right in your hand without having to keep your arm lifted which is a pain after a bit.

Not bad for an old guy that hasn't smoked a pipe in 35 or 40 years.

I had one vaguely similar that I bought in Japan, except no spring and the body was bamboo. The bit you gripped to unscrew was the tamper and the shank was just the same as yours.
