"Pit Viper’s”

These knives are caught in limbo between being a hunter or a bird & trout model. At 7 1/4", they are large enough to handle the many larger tasks thrown at them but yet small enough to do the delicate work on a pheasant or brookie. Using only professionally stabilized woods, both the Maple and Amboina have beautiful figure in them. The black linen Micarta is dressed up a bit with some red spacers. All three will include either a 6-7oz Premium tooling leather or Black Kydex sheath (buyers choice) to be made to buyers specs for right or left hand carry or Necker.

Note: I've posted this piece in a few locations online so the first "I'll take it" gets it.

Ozrab, I responded to your email with payment details.

The Maple and Micarta are still available!

Thank you Ozrab for your purchase and encouraging words!

Ozrab had a change of heart, but only because he saw my Cascavel and wanted it instead. I made the switch for him, and the Amboina is back in the mix.
Thanks Ozrab for your kind words and purchase of the Cascavel.

CJ,

Hey, I'm new here and am looking for my first hunting knife. How would this do as a solid, all-purpose hunting knife? Or is there something better suited you might recommend? I love the look of your knives. Beautiful work.

808Bowman,

Great to have you as a part of BladeForums. This knife is a great all-purpose hunting knife. I designed it to be used on smaller game, but it can handle a bigger task and cut through any hide. It will get the job done! The Micarta handle is nearly indestructible. I wouldn't use it to bone out an elk, but for some of the delicate work in gutting it is very handy. It is great for fish and smaller game because the blade is able to get in those tight spaces. The point cuts through and makes the work easier on you. When skinning out my elk and deer I prefer a more rounded tip, because it allows you to scrap the hide and prevents you from puncturing or cutting through the hide. You will get a lot of use out of this knife. I do plan to post a knife for bigger game this week.

CJ,

Thanks for the quick reply. Over here in the islands, we are limited to Axis deer, Mouflon sheep, goats and wild boar. No "large game" here. I'm eyeing up that Micarta handled Pit Viper, but let me wait and see what you unveil later this week..... you've piqued my interest. Thanks again!

I love it. An excellent combination of a fillet knife and a hunting knife. What a wonderful idea and beautifully executed. CJ, you designed an excellent utility knife that is beautiful and handy to the extreme. If I weren't in the middle of a move, I would definitely, definitely be purchasing one. Oh well. You will be making more of these in the future, I hope, if none are around by the time I can begin repurchasing knives!!!

I wanted to bring my Pit Vipers back around for another look. I only have the Maple and Micarta still available. I now take PayPal. Thanks for taking another look!
