Pit's Icy Hike !!!

My Hikes have been real easy just lately so I thought it was time to do a bit of a lung buster again !

This was the path near the start of my hike...

I started to gain some height and soon warmed up !

The path soon started to become covered with ice patches , a reminder that at higher elevations the weather may not be the same as in the parking lot that you left !

Here are the knives I took, which brings me to a hypothetical scenario: Say I had said that I was giving away my DM on BF ( it ain't gonna happen ) and you won it, then just as you were waiting for it in the post I e-mailed you to say that it was your lucky day and instead of my DM I was sending you my Mora ! How many of you would crack open a cold one and toast me saying " what a great guy that pit is !!!" ? I just wondered this after my knives you would trust thread cos with how many Mora fans there are I guess there would be a lot toasting me !!!......No ?

I always love your pics, but man I get jealous of the terrain you have! I do find beauty in the scrubby, high desert terrain I hike, but I wouldn't mind some of that lush greenery now and then! :D

You should get one of those colloapsible dog bowls for her.
 
Hey Pit, we need to get some good slug photos to show off the Pacific Coast wildlife.

Beware the trail slug-- deadly if you land on one with your heel ;)

Too bad they are full or parasites and not safely edible-- all that protein on the hoof. A little garlic, a little butter, a crispy bagette and a Nalgene full of white wine......PEEEOOOW! Time to go fishin'!

It's a Rough Wear Beacon so i can see her in the dark !!!

I carry a s/steel bowl instead of a collapsible one incase I need to use it to cook in or heat water up in an emergency !
 
great pics. let it be known that in the other thread i said the dumpster mutt with a convexing was the ultimate survival knife.

you can still send me your mora, i don't mind.

I have a Pelican 2130 that looks identical. I put it on my EDC pack so my yuppie neighbors don't run me over when I'm walking home.

I prefer dog roasted on a stick rather than boiled in a bowl ;) I always wanted to know-- is dog white or dark meat?

Dog is dark meat. pig and people are white meat... You got to find one of the three out there in the woods.. All go well with lots of garlic
 
pit...they're Mora fans not fools!

p.s.....I still like my self-handled F1 with the olive green micarta handle the best!
