Pivot screw on UKPK?

When i owned an UKPK I remember I adjusted the pivot screw and it didn't really do anything. I twisted it in both directions and there would be no bladeplay but I think the blade became slightly easier or harder to open. Was my UKPK weird or is there no bladeplay no matter how much you adjust the pivot?

when i got my ukpk, there was no blade play.after i sent it back to spyderco for repairs, they sent it bad with some play, but the pivot was loose, so i tightened it till there was no play, which was pretty much all the way.
