For Ray and a couple of others who have asked for the pix. A little fuzzy but maybe you can get an idea anyway.

Here is a handle, bolster and buttcap made by old Uncle Bill. What kind of wood I can't remember. The bolster and buttcap were made using a Bridgeport mill. Material was half inch thick brass stock. I welded a steel keeper to the tang. This handle is about 9 years old and still going strong.

What is OAL and tonage on that bad boy?! What made you create such a beast?

Is the sheath a shoulder style with a 2" web?

Is that your significant other holding the BMF?

Thanks for posting the pic - was it for me, or a different Ray?

Been too long, Ray. I can't remember the specs.

That's the other half when she was still skinny.

The pix was for you since we had talked about it via phone and IM. A couple of other guys wanted to see it. The pix is plastered here and there on the net but I don't think anybody knows I did the handle work.

Oh, OK.....thanks again, Uncle Bill.

I can understand why you made a thick end cap now: to help offset the balance (center of gravity). Good thinking!

I hope your wife doesn't read that post .....LMAO. I was a lot thinner 9 yrs ago as well! My wife, well..... somethings are best not typed for eyes to read.

We all could use a little more exercise.

I look at women like a boat: you want one built for speed, OR comfort? No comment!

In the brochure this model is posted as an example of a 25" villager. I've always thought that it looked a little bigger though. Either that or she's quite small.

VHD, Yangdu is small. At best five feet tall. Take a look at her holding the 38 inch Janawar Katne for perspective.

When we were living in Nepal Yangdu weighed 90 pounds and I weighed 145. Today she weighs 145 and I got up to 199 but have dropped down to 180 with great effort. It just seems to be a part of life -- the older you get the fatter you get.
