How old is the knife, and do you have documentation that indicates it is ATS-34 ?

Thanks

FWO,
The best I recall I purchased the knife from True North Knives 3 or 4 years ago. When I buy a knife from an online dealer I always copy and save the specifications listed in the ad. When I pulled my records before posting this, I will admit that I was a little surprised to see ATS-34 knowing most of the Tomes knives one sees are 12C27 or 52100. So no, I have no real documentation. ATS-34 was what I copied at the time of purchase. I am pretty sure it is not 52100. I don't posess the expertise to really tell the difference between ATS-34 and 12C27 so I was going by what I saved at the time. Hope this helps.

FWO's post regarding the blade steel on knife really bothered me. I checked PJ's website it stated that his stainless of choice is Swedish Sandvik 12C27. Combined with the fact that I do not remember ever seeing another of his knives in ATS-34 makes me think that I originally make a mistake when I captured the specs on this knife years ago. I certainly did not knowingly misrepresent the blade steel on this knife. Just an honest mistake. I have edited the post and lowered the price. I also want to add for all the steel snobs out there that if PJ chooses to use Swedish Sandvik 12C27 on his knives then I have no doubt it is a perfectly good knife steel. Sorry gentleman and thanks to FWO for bringing this to my attention.

I never would have posted, but if it was ATS-34 that would make it rather rare. If it is , 12c27 it is my opinion as good. They both hold a similiar edge and most 12c27 take a wicked edge a bit easier.I happen to have a number of these and saw a possible addition. These are great knives and I carry one often.

Be well
Floyd
