So now that i CAN finally flick a Spyderco there's 2 im interested in as nice to play with knifes.
1 is the ever popular para 2.
2 is the very unique P'kal.

im leaning toward the avangard P'kal but im not sure about the piston sort of lock
from what i remember the spring is tougher then in Benchmade's.
i chose them because they have lock types i haven't head before.

which one would be nicer to play with open & close?
Thanks

Panta, probably the most pleasurable knife to open and close that I have handled is the Yojimbo 2. Between the compression lock and that heavy blade, that knife opens up like its on bearings. Has a great solid lockup even though the blade will freefall open or closed when the lock is depressed. In addition, it is a very useful design around the house and has some of the best ergonomics of any Spyderco I've handled...and I've handled a bunch of em. ;)

For my personal tastes I'm really fond of the compression lock so between the pkal and para 2 I would lean towards the para 2. But I would also have to agree with Surfinggringo, I also have the yojimbo 2 and because of the heft of the blade it feels much snappier than my para 2s.

I carried my P'kal for a year straight and its lock is now just as easy to operate than any Axis lock I've used. Brand new it was a bit stiffer to disengage, but deffinetly still very easy to operate. As far as flicking goes, the P'kal flys open with a subtle flick of the wrist without even touching the blade or opening hole. This is most likely by design since wave openers don't go well with a strong detent.

Another thing consider is the fact that the P'kal has a trainer, which is much safer to play around with.

Again, you beat me to it! Was going to suggest something a little more unique, yet retaining the compression lock (that I also think you'd like) - Yojimbo. I've never even played with one, but it looks like a cross between a Manix and a PM2 - two I most certainly have experience with. IMO, the compression lock is the way to go if you're not using it every day. P'kal looks awesome too though, lol.

The PM2 has a General Purpose blade design.

P'Kal...Not very GP ..

P'kal works very well when you're facing the mirror and wave it out with "woooshaaahhhh!!!"
Pfft...only rookies say woooshaaahhh. I wear a Cobra Kai bandana (while in front of the mirror of course....you got that part right at least) and say HAAIIIYAH!!! I used to look at myself really tough when I did it but I stopped that because I'd get too scared.

heres a selfie....see what I mean??

True, but i guess that what draws me to it, it's unique, strange.

it wouldn't be the first knife i thought in first glance, boy that thing is UGLY
and ended up loving it & buying it..
like i did with CRKT Eraser :)

that's interesting option
isn't the thumb hole partly covered or hard access?

Yes, it is. Some have an issue with that, others don't. I actually made this video months ago to show how easy the knife was to open with middle finger, pad of the thumb or the "marble shot" i mentioned in that other thread.

Hhhhmmm you got that right. After 10 years of training in karate, I can say that I have mastered the "Haiyah". That's about all I mastered though. :)

Lol.
The sound of the P'Kal is more like tearing fabric as you wave a hole in your pocket, and that "wooshaw" gets filled in with more "f's" and ends with a hard "k" and a swift palm to the forehead. But it really does look all badass to anyone watching in the mirror.

Awesome!!!!!
That movie was crazy!

Those are two totally different knives for two totally different purposes!

P'Kal is a great knife but its mostly for defense and I guess you can attack open packages with it ;)

The PM2 is a great overall knife that is more suitable for everyday edc tasks. Boxes, packages, dinner, etc.

The P'Kal was my first SpydieKnife. I still have it and love it.

The Para2 is probably more fun to sit and flick with, but the P'Kal is also quite entertaining.

They're all fun to play with! I keep all 6 of mine right here on my desk, and I go right down the line, opening and closing each one. I probably play with my Delica more than any of the others though, including my PM2. As strange as it may sound, there's something satisfying about the back lock and one-handed operation.

Personally, I have no interest in the P'Kal and I love the compression lock. If I had to choose between the two, then my choice would be for the PM2. Gringo's suggestion of the Yojimbo might be the best of both worlds for you. You get the great compression lock and a very unique knife that is fun to flick and fondle. :D I can open my Yo 2 with just a wrist flick if I hold down the lock. Just don't drop it on your foot or in you lap.
