Posted this in reviews too, but figured I'd get more responses here. I've already read the ones in the review section, I'd just like to hear some more view points on it before I go in.

Get it... you won't be disappointed... I just figured out the right way to carry it, more towards centerline in the pcket and high on pants like Dockers. Carrying it in that configuration makes you feel like you aren't even carrying a knife when you reach into you pocket to get anything.

If you like hawkbills you won't be disappointed! Best made Spyderco folder I ever had (or handled). Very smooth action. Very dangerous blade - it can cut your fingers easily while closing. New lock, looks reliable. Wire clip - well, who dont like them. Wave - I like Endura one better but in half an hour I got accustomed to it. Still have no idea how to detach it.

The p'kal is a must have if you're into mbc spydercos.
I've been edc'ing mine for a couple of weeks now & love it.
Not really a "hard"work knife ,but very well made & can be used for more than its "specialized" intended purpose.

I tend to look to spyderco for more radical designs. I spend a lot of time perfecting knife drawing and opening, so I imagined this would be a nice new challenge for me. The only Spyderco I edc these days is the dodo, so I need another.

I can't rate mine in terms of EDC useage (being my most expensive knife i don't carry it much), but oh man it's one very slick knife. The wave is perfect and i can whip it out of my waistband or pocket and into the p'kal position extremely fast. It's very fun to play with, just be careful since that tip is sharp.

The new BB lock is very nice too. Once it's been broken in a tad, it's extremely smooth. I do have to say though that i can work the BB lock on the D'Allara and Dodo alot faster since i use my thumb only (i've got relatively slim fingers) where the P'kal requires you to use two fingers.

If you can find one and have the $$$, i recommend picking one up even if for just for collecting (even if you're not much of a collector to begin with). :D

I like to have a few from my favorite companies with some being swapped out on occasion. I seem to find myself only buying Spyderco's very radical knives though and sticking to Benchmade for the more conventional folders. I plan on buying one now, just because I think it'll entertain me, I'm just going to have to see if it fits well within the budget of the quite expensive computer I'm building right now. The p'kal is a bit strangely expensive, at 40 dollars more than other G10/S30V knives from Spyderco, (or 30% more) but I don't really mind.

As per you not carrying it often, take advantage of your new knife. It's not irreplaceable, 160 dollars isn't much in the long run. Once you get the first scratch you'll feel better.

Thanks for the mini review, every one helps.
