This one has my new finish option. It's basically blasted and pickled. I don't know what the finish is called, and I'm sure I'm not the first. However, "blasted and pickled" is not a catchy name so I'm calling it "plackerized" for now. Feel free to chime in if you have a better name. :dblthumb:

grind: convex
blade: 4″, plackerized
overall length: 8″
steel: 1/8″ 80CrV2 @ 61 Hc
handle: Mable burl bolster with Dark Blue/Yellow Wireworks handle. White-black-White-black-white G10 Divider going through white G10 liner to meet an black G10 liner.
handle thickness: 4-4.5/5
hardware: Carbon fiber pins and tube. (there is a rear pin, but It's hard to see in the pictures)

Sheath not included.

I began making PL knives in 2016. I've done leather work for over 20. I added kydex to my repertoire in the last few years. The heat treat on all of my carbon steel knives is done by me in a thermostatically controlled Evenheat knifemaking kiln. Each 80CrV2 blade goes through a 3 stage normalization before being heated to austenitic temperature and quenched in Parks 50 oil. Then it goes through a 2 stage tempering process. 80CrV2 Hardness is approx. 61 hc and my heat treat process produces a blade with extreme toughness and fine edge sharpenability. Scales are glued with West Systems G-flex epoxy. My aim is to produce heirloom quality tools with excellent craftsmanship that will provide a lifetime of enjoyment and service.

“Plickled” …. or “blickled” …..or “blackled”.

I like it.
