I may soon find myself in Italy.

I am hoping that in addition to seeing the cultural sites of this beautiful country that I might also have a bit of outdoor Italian adventure.

Does anyone have any suggestions of outdoor/wilderness/wildlife activities in Italy?

Umm, I would think the whole country, you jerk.:D

I dont know of any, but I would love to see some pics when you end up there.

There are a LOTS of great mountains in the northern part.
Also a great country for bike riding.

But have no idea about hunting or fishing.

The sea is also great.

Hope you enjoy it.

I seem to recall from when I lived there that the hunting and fishing laws were very strict and very complicated. There are, however, many great hiking and camping places, particularly in the northern parts of the country.

I was in Brindisi and Leche a few years back and there was quite a bit of cool trails up and down the country side. Pretty much - everywhere I went there were cool trails with plenty of things to see.

Any idea where you'll be?

Como Biliagio area is (was) very inexpensive and had fantastic views of the Alps. It wasnt really outdoorsy but is really scenic mountain views on Lake Como. I think thats where parts of James Bond Casino Royal movie was filmed.
All of Florence.
All of Rome.
Vience is cool if you get off the beatn track.
If you want to see Italy on the cheap, me and my wife did it with Fromer's guide to Italy under $99 a day.

I've been to the Amalfi Coast and to the island of Capri, both relatively near Naples. While neither place could be called wilderness, they have some stupendously gorgeous scenery and easy hiking.

MyRight- Not yet. Things are still in the planing stage.
Thanks to all for their suggestions.

Ask me freely :)
I suggest you Tuscany for historical cities and woods and also Puglia for historical cities and sea. When you need more, I can PM you some knife knuts in both regions happy to be helpful
