Plain edge or partial serrations for an EDC knife

I am new to knife collecting, having only one knife that I use for hunting trips (SOG Seal Pup). I am looking at various EDC knives (the SOG Trident, Emerson) and was curious as to what people thought about a plain edge versus a partially serated one. Do you find the serrations useful and what do you tend to use it for? Or do you preffer a plain edge.

My EDCs are all 2 3/4-3 1/2 inch folders and I don't find partially serrated blades useful at that length. There's not enough of either type of edge to be real helpful in a wide variety of cuts. I just sharpen my PE blades to a shaving but not polished edge and that works fine for the types of cuts that I do (cardboard, paper, nylon zip ties, some electrical cabling, plant material, a little leather). The edge is sharp enough to cut and rough enough to act like tiny serrations.

Plain edge generally , I'd rather have a dedicated cheapie/ multitool blade in serated .

If I have a choice, I buy plain edge knives. If I want a serrated knife, I buy one with the full blade serrated.
