Plain vs. decorated Sebenza

Besides the obvious, the blade grind is polished instead of stonwashed. Other than that and the decorated handle slab they are the same knife.

and of course a small matter of money...

They are beautiful knives, but more than one has opted to sell the decorated and obtain a plain so they feel comfortable in using the knife, though the decorated would also do the job quite nicely!

I was one of those that opted to get rid of a decorated damascus Sebenza. I was/am to uncomfortable to use such a piece of art. I carry a large Sebenza daily, even pry (gasp!) with it sometimes... But to use a finely crafted knife like a decorated damascus Sebenza would cause me to lose sleep. Now, I am having my large Sebenza engraved, even a design engraved into it. But, to me that is not art, just personalization.
