I've already made a thread about how cool the "EARTH" stamp is on spydercos.

Sal, have you considered putting "EARTH" on all you knives, or is that something you want to stay with the Golden factory?

I really wish i could get it put on my caly3.

I'm guessing that "Rare Earth" is for the magnet, not for the fact that the knife or Earth is rare, although it is from our perspective. Neodymium is usually referred to as a "rare earth" type magnet, but I don't know if that is in fact the magnet used in the T-mag.
 
i like earth on the logo too, my ti ATR's are like that.

pretty neat, i havent ever seen anything else marked like that FWIW, knife, gun, refrigirator, condom, nothing.
 
With the impending passing of the interplanetary importation act, that would require planet of origin marked on all products. I think Spyderco is just trying to be ready.
 
If I recall, "Earth" was added to the ricasso because the requirements for identifying country of origin were so strict. "USA" was apparently too vague, so Sal decided to spell it out for them. The T-Mag is just hilarious.
 
I think it is great insight on spydercos part. I would be happy if it just said EARTH and no country of orgin.
 
I always thought the "EARTH" thing showed both a sense of humor and a feeling that, in todays world, we are all interconnected.

Lends a bit of personality to the knives (as if Spyderco products lacked personality :) )

You poke fun, but i once lost a Native on my journeys through the Cosmos, and it was returned to my parents house one year later.

I only carry an Earth spyderco when I travel.:thumbup:

As far as anyone knows, the earth is one of a kind, so Rare Earth can be for the planet. ;)
 
sal must have seen the vides of the nasa missions that show ufos in them on the internet, confirming the existence of extraterrestrial civilizations from different star systems. sal obviously knows that we are not alone, and that contact has already begun. our government does not want us to know, however everything is now on the internet these days, just like celebrity sex videos and executions of dictators like saddam....
