Go check out Don Fogg's web page. The Yoda of bladesmithing
He has tons of good info on building propane forges, and a copy of Tim Lively and Tai Goo's charcoal forge for neotribal bladesmithing. It's at www.dfoggknives.com

Jeff,
As T.J. mentioned my charcoal burning adobe forge plans are on Don's site. But he had to crunch them down some to get it to fit. And there's one page missing. I noticed you live in Tucson, I'm right up the road in Catalina. I would be happy to give you a hand if you would like. The Neo-Tribal Metalsmiths are also based in Tucson and I am a founding member. You would be welcome to come to our full moon gatherings and I can introduce you to Tai Goo and a bunch of other talented smiths. Check out my web site: http://www.livelyknives.com. I'm linked to the Neo-Tribal page so you can check that out too. My phone number is on my site so please give me a call or e-mail me.
I have plans for a simple propane forge on my web site as well. If cost is an issue, mine was built for less than $100. If you are interested, the URL is: http://home.airswitch.net/cbenson/setup.htm
I hope this helps,
Ravenclaw
