Plastic Dip

I've used Plasti-Dip in the past on about a half a dozen or so knives that either came with a bare skeletonized handle, or else the handle slabs just sucked, so i removed them. In general, no real problems other than if the sheath is kydex, you need to make sure that you stop about an 1/8" short of where the Plasti-Dip would come in contact with the sheath. Otherwise the constant rubbing/contact would wear and fray the Plasti-Dip.

Th real key is to actually dip the whatever it is you're working with into the Plasti-Dip at the rate of speed (1" per 5 seconds going in, and the same coming out).

If uou're doing more than one coat, I've found that regardless of what the instructions say, make sure you wait 24 hours in between coats.

Look. Plasti-Dip is certainly not the be-all, end-all for coating the exposed metal handle of your favorite tool or knife, but it's works well considering the price-point and availablity as compared to several other products out there.

Not to mention, if either you fuck it up, or it just gets messed up from general wear and tear, it's easy to just strip off and reapply.

YMMV!

Pardon the poor image quality, all I have on my is my not so impressive camera phone.
