I've shot God-knows-how-many rounds through my "G"...No "jams" either. Just stoppages due to either limp-wristed shooters (my girlfriend) or s**tty gun show reloads. Then there was, of course, the catastrophic barrel blockage/stoppage/messed-up situation that resulted in my buying a new barrel. I don't attribute that to anything but
BAD ammo. If anything, it reaffirmed my trust in Glock firearms. I've swam with my "G", dropped it in the mud...you name it. No malfunctions.
I've modified my "G" with a new 5-lb. trigger, maritime spring cups (for discharging the firearm submerged), and a new mag-release spring, slide-stop spring, and Wolff +10 magazine springs. I have access to LEO mags, and have 5 G-17 mags in addition to my 2 stock 15-rounders.
Since I know
SOMEBODY is going to ask about the maritime spring cups: They allow the gun to be fired submerged. I spend quite a bit of time in the water with my "G", and don't want to chance any problems...and yes, I have tested it out. Nothing I would recommend to anyone, but
IF you need to, you can and the gun won't blow up. With the spring cups installed the "G" will even cycle underwater. An ex-SEAL friend turned me on to them (they're on all of his Glocks). You can get them for $15/set at
Glockmeister, in the "sock drawer" category.
