Plastic pocket clips??

Anyone aware of a current knife produced with a plastic pocket clip. I've grown to hate the metal clips but just can't get used to not using a clip or using a sheath. I remember Outdoor Edge made a pocket spear but can't locate one. I have a old style delica and endura but just looking for a new flavor. Thanks in advance:D

Well, have you considered coating the metal clip with one of the "dip and bake" coatings you can get at many home improvement centers. Some of them are plastic-y, versus rubber-y.

You'd probably need longer screws, though.

Many of the lower end knives have plastic pocket clips on them. I personally don't care for them- the only pocket clip that broke on me was plastic. Metal is way more durable.

I don't know of many new plastic clipped knives, but is this just a preference or is there a specific reason you prefer them? The people I know that like plastic clips like them because they won't scratch up the cars they work around.

If your reason is similar, there are more options...supposedly wire clips are less likely to scratch stuff (there are no edges, it's a bent cylinder), and I've been thinking about cutting up old jeans and super gluing them to an old pocket clip for stealthyness and sheeple protection...mostly just to do something fun, but in any case, if you glue jeans or something to the outside of the clip, I imagine it wouldn't scratch up stuff either.

Of course, if you just like plastic clips, these things won't help much.

Many of the older Cold Steel folders had plastic clips. I am not sure if they still do.

I believe the spyderco dragonfly has a plastic clip, that is assuming you get it in the FRN handle instead of SS. Additionally, I am not sure that it would constitute a new flavor for you since you stated you already have an old style endura and delica

Plastic clips break ridiculously easily! Speaking from experience here. Two different Cold Steel Voyagers, and two different Spyderco Enduras! (Thank God those models now come with metal clips).

There's a reason why you don't see a lot of integral, plastic clips on folders anymore. Owners, like me, got sick & tired of the clips breaking. Knife companies got sick & tired of trying to fix the knives with broken clips.

If you want a quality knife, with a plastic clip () go for the SOG model that's already been posted on this thread.

Try dipping you clip in this. It comes in different colors, and you do is dip it in and it will dry in like a minute. Sells for like $10 at Home Depot and will coat all your clips. The coating is pretty durable. When it wears, just dip it again.
