plate quench ealy damascus

Has any one tried plate quenching 1/16 ealy damascus have done Damasteel & it works great very little wrapping . I thought aquick oil quench & then between the plates .Any help will be appreciated opasquia

I have had more trouble with 1/16 warping in oil than in plate quenches.

I am assuming you are talking about air-quenching steel combinations in the Damascus. You shouildn't plate quench non air quenching steels

I would talk to Delbert about it. I'm guessing (OK, not really, I'm pretty sure what he'll tell you) that it won't be recommended. Del usually uses 01/L6 which really isn't a combination that lends itself to anything but an oil quench.

If you don't have the equipment for it, I know that Del will do the HT for you for a pretty reasonable price.
