plate quenching multiple blades?

I just bought a HT oven and have some questions. If you were to plate quench a stack of blades, wouldn't the blades in the center of the stack stay hotter longer than the ones that are actually coming in contact with the plates ??? Would this affect the hardness of the center blades compared to the outer 2 blades?

They should be side by side when quenched. You're right. Stacking them would not work well.
