Platen attachment for my Grizzly

So, first post here! :triumphant:

I'm a new knife maker and I chose the Grizzly as my entry grinder. I can't tell you how frustrating it has been to get a good plunge cut and grind line. It just seemed like the belt was dancing all over the place. After looking at other grinders, I decided to build an attachment that had a platen that approached the KMG style. I'm extremely pleased with the difference.

Good work. I did something similar when I had a grizzly grinder. It helped immensely. Do you have plans for improving the work rest? It's such an awful design as it is.

Oh yeah, that was the first thing I changed. I was very unhappy with the one that came with the grinder. I've also made another one that attaches to this new platen.

You'll need to right click on the icon after that statement. I don't have the ability to attach images yet. I guess I'll be paying for a membership very soon...

All you need is a photobucket account to post photos here.

Do you have any photos of your work rest?
