Platten setup

How is the flat platten supposed to be lined up. Flush with the wheels or just short of them.

Mine sit a hair proud. You definitely don't want them short of the wheels.

I set my platen about .020 - .030 further out than the wheels.

What they said, but more isn't better. You want it slightly proud, so you can flatten things like described in your other thread, but if you go further than Nathan said there's no benefit, but the further you go the hotter your belts and platen will get, which you do not want.
