HAVE MANY SPYDERCOS LOVE THEM ALL,NOTICED A LITTLE PLAY AT THE PIVOT POINT ON MY NEW DELICA 4,THE SCREW SEEMS TO BE TIGHT,JUST WONDERED IF I SHOULD BE CONCERNED? I PLAN TO USE THIS KNIFE HARD AND ALOT. I REALLY WANT THIS KNIFE TO WORK,ILOVE IT:confused:

A bit of movement at the pivot when you press down on a hard cut is common in Spyderco lock backs. If the movement is excessive and feels dangerous, it is a concern, but a little bit of movement is normal.

That is very uncommon in my experience, and if it has both side to side and up and down, you may consider sending it in.

You could try this one.
When I got my D4 Wave, it also had side play.
Cause of this were the PB washers.
They are thicker then the previous nylon ones.
Now if the screws of the lockbar pivot are tightened, it disformed the handles.
Solution was to loosen both the blade pivot and the lockbar pivot.
Then tighten the blade pivot, till it is at the tension you like, and after that you tighten the lockbar pivot, but only lightly.
Just so that it won't loosen by itself.
I suggest, you give it a try.

I got an Endura 4 (no wave) in the mail last night. I love it as well. Suprised at how beefy the blade is, needs more relief. (What is the best way?) However I do have some rocking back and forth but nothing excessive. I think FRN is somewhat flexible in terms that if you cause lateral blade play in use the handle reconforms to tighten everthing up when the load is subtracted. A Buck 110 does not have this ability.

If you have lateral blade play when the knife is not in use I have idea what to do and will be following this thread to learn.

If you loosen things up a bit and re-tighten you should be able to find a happy point where you don't have any side to side play. If you do have a considerable amount of play after adjustment give Spyderco a call. Mine has zero play in any direction.
