i picked up a used boker kwaiken flipper on the exchange last week. it arrived safe and sound last night, i immediately sharpened it as i have a bit of an ocd issue with sharpness (im sure someone can relate..)
well i bought it to tinker with so a figured what the hell right..tore it down and broke out the torch, went at it a little today and here are the results. dont hate too much its the first time ive ever messed with titanium... i started to drill the liners but ended up killing bits and said to hell with it. the action of this knife is pretty nice, im a washer guy though.. its a nice little/big knife, i think its actually going to spend some time in my pocket.

Looks nice. Did you do the coloring, or previous owner?

Sent from my mind....using Tap-a-Thought. (tm)

Thats a nice job you did--how do you get the different colors to show up with flame anodizing? Is it more or less intensity of the flame or maybe the temperature?
Regardless, that came out really nice and vivid.

Thanks guys. Yes it was all done via torch cranked wide open burning about 2000f. Next one I'm gonna attempt with a hotter torch. The different colors are different heat ranges with different time on each color.
