This one I whipped up with the idea of a gloved hand user. Possible a cattleman or oil rigger. Large, low slung blade with a large round hole and slimmer handle. Steel lined FRN with the new volcano grip pattern. Jimpin on the spin similar to the Native. Standard flat metal clip.

This one is a goof off from a long Friday night of coke drinking and forum hopping. :o
Its an Endura4 variant with lock and blade inspired by the disco'd Dodo. I think it would be best with steel nested G-10. Smaller jimping such as the E4's on the spine and upper handle spine. Wire clip such as the D'Allara's.

Both are about life sized and would probably look cooler in SE. :D

I like the first one as is, throw a choil on the second one and I'll like that too. Nice job.

Yeah, Thats what I was thinking to begin with was the Civilian. But a usable civilian, but when I was shaping it up i kept thinking of this other knife, but couldn't quite think which one. It was about 3am and I was bored... Then someone brought up the dodo in the spyderco forum and I remember that was what I was thinking about. If that makes sense. Looking at them now.. I don't think the first one would fold up. I think the blade is too long. and the second one might be big folded like the D'Allara.

If the second one was put into production and made a little bigger I think it would be awesome. Looks really "wave-able" too.

That would be cool. But I don't see the BB lock being mainstream enough. And much as that dissapoints me. I love it, but people always complain about the slippery little bearing.. oh well... Id like to see the first one. Even though looking at it now, it reminds me of an ocelot.

Looks good. I like the low slung blade idea. It kind of has the chef's knife look to it and would be good for anyone that has to cut on a surface. I could see both of these in production actually.

I can also see a million problems with each one. As you mention, both would be larger than normal when folded which makes them bulky in the pocket. A lot of people don't like the Ball Bearing lock because it is hard to use with gloved hands or wet hands. There are a ton of things that people won't like about either of them.

It just goes to show that it is a lot harder to design a knife than we think. I like the fact that you tried to keep it simple. Even so, it is hard to please everyone.
