Please admit your dogs !

A good Chorizo is the way to go, nothing beats it in my opinion. Spicey meaty delicious what's not to like? Also a key ingrediant in the other back yard favorite paella.

Hebrew National 1/4 pound dogs. Steamed in a covered frying pan in about a half a bottle of beer. Steam until the beer turns to mostly solids, add a touch of butter and just a quick fry of the outer skin in the butter and malts from the beer.:D Cover in a good chili and some three cheese, taco cheese. One of these will fill you up!
Johnsonville Bedder Cheddar Braauts are great on the grill too. All that meat and cheese in the same package!AHHHHHH hungry... Must go find food.;)

Edited to add that these are so large the must be eaten in a bulky type roll ( italian sandwich ) roll.

I think it was Bill who said to try boiling in Beer ? Now this great sounding
steamed in beer recipe . Hmmm adding butter to hot dogs ? I think this is a recipe I would try and not make a habit of . It sounds outstanding !

Yeah and it was kinda like Nasty, I think it was, that said, "I can almost hear my arteries hardening." :D ;)

But now I'm wondering if any of y'all didn't get that email that said margarine is plastic molecules and terrible for a person and that butter, real butter, is actually better for
you? ;) :D

Does that include the nonhydrogenated kinds ? Have the vegetable oils been so bastardised as to become something else ?

Okay, Hot Dogs only. No brats, sausages, kelbasi, etc (all which I love). I'll give a shout out to the WHite Dogs from Rochester somebody mentioned. My sister has a friend who brings up a 5 pound bag of them every summer.

For Hot Dogs its these (Keep in mind they some are probably regional or local)

1. Mckenzie Natural Casings Frank (Vermont company, don't know where else they sell)

2. Essem Natural Casing

3. Hebrew National All Beef (skinless, but by far the best skinlees you can buy).

All on hot dog buns with chopped onions and ketchup (yep, that's right I said ketchup)

I eat Brats. Never liked hotdogs. Publix packs good ones up fresh for me. I don't boil mine in beer. I grill them slowly over low heat till they are a beautiful dark color with no punctures. Then I toast the buns on the grill and load them up with onions, and mustard. MMMMMMMMMMM. Good stuff.

Andy?

If you can, get some good sauerkraut, and cover the onion/mustard brat with it.

I don't usually like kraut, but...oooh boy....on a brat, it brings it on home.

(too much salt is also a requisite for me, but I don't recommend it to others.)

You got that right Kis...Brats were designed for kraut!

When I have kraut I use it! When I don't just the onions will suffice. I do like the kraut on my brats though. MMMMM

The Dairy Queen in Spearfish SD had the best Superdog... :)

Sorry... this part of the country isn't known for good hotdogs (SD/WYO)... but damn we have good steak!

I hope I don,t commit sacrilege here . Isn,t Bratwurst a whitish very mild sausage ? I know these are proabably a North Americanised version but I prefer Scheiders Ocktoberfest sausages . A good spicy mustard with that and perhaps an ice cold beer . I know I said no sausages . It seems the thread is winding down and you can blast away with your favourite sausages if you must-ard .
