Please Buck, Make this Knife - Backpack Hunting

The cost of those Moras is ridiculous! Some of those things cost over $20. That's getting up there close to the Buck 112 Slim Selects, which are going for about $30 now.:)
 
If I'm going to spend the time and effort for such a hunt I would prefer a full tang / robust knife.
I understand wanting to keep weight down, but I would prioritize build quality over weight. Especially when your talking about a few ounces....

Sure a lightweight knife can cut, but there's a number of things it cannot do.
If you need to cut more than meat, that matters.

That's my 2 cents / 0.176 oz worth.
 
Just thinking fixed blades, if it can be carried inside of a pack, perhaps a very simple sleeve would protect the blade without the necessity of a belt loop and other additions. That may allow for reducing total weight of a fixed blade. Just have to make sure it is stored in such a way the sleeve cannot slide off, such as in a sideways zipper pocket where it would need to be removed in order to remove the sleeve.
