Please critique my design

Bill's right about the sharp pointed buttcaps though. Round the tops at least a little and then I think you will have achieved an almost perfect khukuri!!!!:D

I still like the classic lines of the bottom one the best though.
What are these gonna go for?;)

Thanks Yvsa, the buttcaps are fashioned after my M43. They won't be as sharp as they look on the drawing. Kinda oval shaped when viewed from the rear.

Don't have any plans right now to sell any. Using the stock removal method instead of forging is pretty inefficient. I have a 6" x 36" piece of A-2 steel that I can get 4 out of. If I come up with an extra one we'll talk ;) . I plan to have them professionally heat treated, hopefully by Paul Bos.

With all due respect to the lovers of boomerangs, hay hooks, and such, I'd like that top one with me in a fight. Looks a bit more agile and also capable of delivering a thrust if need be. Sometimes you might have to go for the stab if you ain't got room to swing (Steve mentioned military applications as an intended use).Sarge

Thanks Sarge, that's exactly what I was aiming for. Heavily inspired by the Berk Special I just received that is right up with the YCS as my favorite Khukuri.

tell me about the size you need, and I'll see what I can do.

A very kind offer sir. When I finish grinding we'll see what the size comes up as. Sometimes the steel doesn't match the paper.

I was kidding about the drawing. It'll take a 3 view to show things right. But needle pointed buttcaps we can do without.
