Please critique my first design

I'll say Great JOB on making a first design that's nice, simple and a user. Oftentimes new makers want to add everything and the kitchen sink to their first design. I know I had to fight that urge. No jimping, filework, guthooks, etc. Nice.

Thanks. I know my limitations regarding my skill level and the fact I have limited tools and no mentor to walk me through everything. My long term goals are a 10" chef knife and deer butchering knives but I know I need to learn the basics before I tackle a projects that large. I am really trying to keep it as basic as possible, but still being a functional tool that I can use.

Well, experiment is over. I got a little to frisky with grinding bevels and ruined it. Gonna start a new build.
Being this is 1/8, I think I'm going to make an EDC/Hunter. Very wide, with a slow sweeping curve. Time to draw it up...4-6" blade? I'll see how it looks.
Thanks to everyone who has offered me help so far. I have listened to it all and appreciate it!

Yup. Don’t overthink it. Your first knife will work, but your 30th will be one you carry for awhile.

Get some experience, and learn as you go.

Thanks guys. Worked on this blank this afternoon. Happy with the blade but as you can see I have been tweaking the handle. Not happy with it. I had it almost identical to the template but the end of the handle didn't feel right in the hand so this is where I ended up.
