I had built this for myself, but decided to built me one a bit lighter for daily carry.
This one is forged from 3/8" thick 1095FG (1095 with added vanadium). Blade is 10" x 1-7/8" wide, 3/8" thick at spine. Clip is sharp, convex edge. Working "belt" finish, a few forge pits here and there. Guard is blued low carbon, so are the pins, handle is Curly Maple with a "matte" grippy finish.
Differential heat treat by watching "zones", you can see a temperline but I didnt etch/polish to show it. Triple temper wich with this batch of 1095 really works great.
Did a bunch of bamboo cutting yesturday with it, was pleasantly surprised how well it cut even with my modest cutting skills. Consistently cut "clean" through 1-3/4"+ bamboo, also did some "twists" in mid cut to really test the edge, no chips, rolls etc.... still shaved after cutting about 3X what you see in the photo below.
Any how, price is $600, payment by USPS m.o. or paypal only (you pay fee).
