I ordered a knife of another brand that I will not name, and was sadly dissapointed that I had spent my money and did not get more for my buck...... In a side by side comparison the ESEE wins hands down. The quality and finish was not what I expected on the new knife. While the finish had no blimishes or anything, it did not hold a candle to the ESEE. The ESEE was sharper, heavier, and just feels more work ready in my hand. Well lesson learned I will stick with ESEE to get a quality knife from now own...Thanks guys :D

So, what did you get? And where in Tennessee, West, Middle, or East?

You should upgrade to a gold account and sell the one you don't like on the exchange. get some of your money back from it.

As stated I will not name the knife. I live about 45 miles north of knoxville.

I can respect that, would you mind emailing it to me or PM'ing me what it was, I am truly interested to find out. If not, no worries.

North of Ktown, I'm about 20min south of KnoxVegas, you should come to some of our Gatherings we will be having this spring.

" Gatherings " When and where? Just might be there if it doesn't land on the same weekend as the spring event at Knod Creek....

Sorry to hear about your bum blade dude. I can kinda respect your not wanting to reveal what it is but 1) That makes us curious. 2) It could save others from spending cash on a blade that just won't do. 3) Saying that a knife could be better isn't in and of itself going to degrade your character or ruin a manufacturer. That said, again, if it bothers your conscience to do so, then don't.

God bless,
Adam

A couple of questions.

Is the knife you purchased the same type of design as the ESEE you are comparing it to?
ie. ESEE-5 to BK-2

Is it in the same price range as the ESEE you are comparing it to?

and last.
It is only your oppinion that you are posting. It is neither wrong nor right. For instance. My Buddy Moosey here, loves his BK-2, he has an ESEE-5, but much prefers his BK-2. I on the other hand, dislike the BK-2, and wouldn't use it to clean the crap off my boot. ;) But I love the ESEE-5. I think the Becker BK-2 is a great knife for the money, but since I owned the ESEE-5 before I ever held the BK-2; I prefer the 5.

It is your oppinion, you should own it. No knife maker is dumb enough to ever think he could satisfy everyone..
Besides, if everyone kept their oppinion to themselves, how would knifemakers ever improve their work???

Yes its is in the same price range, and the sizes are almost the same. I just gwent out on a limb and got it cause it looked good. As for the knife itself the fit and finish and sheath looks, but it lust falls short compaired to the ESSEE. The sheath is a little hard to get the knife in and out of, but I figure it will loosen up. I will keep the knife and it might grow on me, but I wish I would have gave a few more dollase for another ESEE. After all I might have some trees that might need sticking.........:D

We are working out the details, but we usually do a fews days out and about, and there are contests with prizes for the winners, different sponsors, and locations. I will be posting about it as I get the details laid out.

Tis true, we rib and kid each other, but it boils down to our own preferences. The one thing that gets me is when folks genuinely feel that one knife is better for someone than another. Its as varied as each and each knife.

Tony is correct, I have a BK2 and an ESEE5, I love both of them, but the Becker is more comfortable for me. Are the both great knives? Oh HELL yeah. Do I like one more than the other, not really. One works better for me, mechanically speaking, than the other.

Good call Tony. Send me that ESEE6, when you get a chance. I need to scrape my boots too. Been over in the DPx forum and its getting DEEP.:D
