Wait, you knew it didn't have the screw? I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume you bought it used? :D

Did you try to find one while the knife was in transit? What happened to it? I have no way to measure mine, so can't recommend you buy the fastener at a local store. In any case, they're actually manufactured by CRK so you'll want an OEM piece.
I'd contact the company. If they won't send/sell you one, I'd suggest you send it in. Hopefully someone else has better advice since you don't want to do that. :o

Just wondering.....why would you buy a knife knowing it was missing the pivot screw?? Call CRK tomorrow and they will send you one out right away.

I contacted CRK. At first they said they'd send me one, after I sent them pictures to check authenticity I got an email from them saying I have to send it in and they couldn't send it to me. IM just trying to see if someone just for some CRAZY reason had an extra so I didn't have to send it in. IM just being impatient because I don't want to go without my new knife for the next 3-6 weeks. Before I made the trade on this I did send crk pics to ask the authenticity. I don't know why it came that way but I was aware of it. Thanks for any help/suggestions, I really appreciate it

The pictures made them ask for you to send it in? Could you please post the pictures in this thread? This is most peculiar...

CRK service is amazing, I'm sure the turn around woudn't be 3-6 weeks for a simple pivot screw. I got brand new inlays on both sides of a mnandi in 4 weeks... so I have trouble imagining 6 weeks for a pivot screw.

Im not worried about it being genuine, they told me it was. i just got the typical "yes, no problem we can send it to you" then i recieved an email an hour later saying something to the effect of " its pressure fitted and we cannot send that out" I was very clear about what i needed. i am gonna call them in the morning and get it sorted. i only posted this thread to see if for some miraculous reason someone had one. on the website it states that theres a 3-4 week in/out time, thats what Im going off of. this isnt that big a deal really but i do appreciate all the feedback

Don't be surprised that you need to send in a knife that you knowingly bought missing a critical part.

Just some observations - the handwriting on the DOB card does not look like any of mine (does not necessarily prove anything), the V was written wrong in S35VN, and the calfskin pouch is not normally shipped with the 25....probably what made them want to look at it.

I'll check mine. Mine was made around the same time.

Mine just says sebenza 25 not large sebenza 25, and my signature doesn't have the really big wooping circles as much,
It looks as if the signature is a different color, and maybe that dob card was for a large sebenza, and 25 was written in later. But at least the knife looks authentic, I would send it to crk have him take a look at everything.

Huh, mine is a little different, sure it's nothing then, I apologize for any inconvenience.

It just looks like the person that normally writes the card was on vacation or something the day yours was made. Looks legit to me. If you didn't have everything else I might be a *little* more concerned, but with everything pictured I would put money on it being the correct card.

Have you taken the knife apart? It has the correct washers, yes? I can see the Chinese faking the knife, but there are some tells that they might miss/skip so early in the game. Anyway, I know you're not concerned about authentication so the point is moot.

As for the pivot screw. I think they may be confusing it with the stop pin. The pivot is not pressure/interference/press fit in any way. I can see how they might agree to send out a (threaded) stop pin screw, then (think) they realize that it's one of the early press fit pins, and ask you to send it in.

I'd try one more time making sure that they realize that it's just the male pivot screw. Oh, and call them. Much easier to explain things than in an email.

Good luck.

Yeah, I wouldn't go off the card too much. Mine's completely different than Strigamort's.

Just as a curious off topic side note, I'm pretty sure that the signatures are actually just a stamp or printed on anyway. For example, the placement and actual weight of the strokes are identical on those 2 cards. On all four of mine, the name seems to be the same person that is on the other cards but is signed by someone different and then rubber stamped from there.

Probably his, just signed at 2 different times. I had just never looked at all my cards side by side and noticed it for some reason. Probably too much coffee today. :)

Yeah, but you're right. The op's card and mine have identical signatures, going by the dot count on the line. Yours are identical, but the placement is different.

Odd that ours were printed, but yours were stamped.

There was a recent "missing pivot screw Sebenza 25" for sale, where the seller thought it came this way new, and the comments in that thread make me feel uneasy. No wonder the shop wants to inspect the knife. Please keep us posted of the outcome.
