Please help convince me...

As a seller on eBay I can concur
Ebay hates sellers
Buyers are wearing diapers so full of their own sh*t and constantly try to scam and ebay will take their side immediately almost as a blind policy
100% FACTS. Sellers have to accept returns then boom returned box is empty. As long as they send a box back that has tracking and shows it was delivered. Idk whats worse lost merch or losing almost 13 percent of final sale price plus taxes.

Facts that stack on facts, fatty factsBurger right here. Got burned on a pm2 return I bought from NK then resold, my buyer swore up and down that it was fake due to sticky action and eBay allowed him to return. Never saw it again --- I asked NK and they said unless spyderco is counterfeiting their own knives he buys directly from them. It's no wonder why sellers are leaving eBay in hordes

Now is not the time to worry. If you wanted to, before the purchase would have been best. Now just chill, until you get it. If there is a problem, you should then be able to deal with it.
Hope all goes well

Oh that's actually very relevant, I read 'Rockstead' and assumed we were talking a thousand or more for something simple

Don't worry if it's not authentic then return it but make sure you have a witness that will confirm your findings in case of a battle with the seller.

Ebays quickest resolution is refund the buyer then come after the seller for the money and usually by just helping themselves to the card you have attached to your profile
That or the money will hang in limbo until you just say f*^*&^-it and initiate a return
Avoid all this by forking out the money for new from dlt or bhq, kc too I guess but I won't buy there anymore

If the previous owner registered the knife then the warranty is donezo. If Rockstead finds out you bought off of the secondary they won’t assist. I could be wrong but everything I’ve read said they don’t support anyone except original owners and they even check for listings and serial numbers on reseller sites. Check out the ‘Rockstead Knowledge’ thread for some useful info.

Personally, I think you did fine if Rockstead is what you had your heart set on and you don’t mind that any warranty work may be refused.

Agreed i feel warranty work is primarily exercised with folding knives since more goes wrong with them, fixed blades aren't sent in nearly as much

that is still the case for most of them... but the 'chou' model is a very simple small fixed blade - look it up on knifecenter or bladehq etc

Doesn't really look all too useful or practical
There's plenty of other options I'd choose over chou in every category

Sound like u're good.

Just check my ebay account, 336 buys, never had a problem.

I think this one’s probably fine. Mostly because I don’t think anyone has bothered to counterfeit the Chou.

I wouldn’t worry about the warranty on a neck knife with a cord wrap. Sending it back to Japan to fix a worn out cord seems insane and I can’t imagine what else would go wrong with it.

watch out for stripped screws L O L

I can't really believe anybody cares about my "mod"...knife is in fine shape and I'm happy!
Thanks to all those who gave positive feedback...the others can enjoy a chuckle at my expense...
