Please Help Identify the Knife that Started it All

Ahh it looks so right! But is it available without assisted opening? I don't remember that feature... But hey it might be my memory haha

And don't worry Lycosa! You know I'm still in line for that cqc-7 too... But the more knives the merrier haha

Made in USA by Buck Knives, Inc. The 296 has assisted opener, super steel blade, Paul Bos heat treating, pocket clip and forever warranty.

This one is out of production but I found a NIB right away for under $80 so they are out there.

Have fun.

Just wow. I'll do some searching and grab hold of one! And that marksman I've been eyeing up..
I've been getting into Buck lately buts it's still pretty new, no wonder id never heard of this. Glad to hear it's made by such a great company, I was worried it be a cheapo special...

And wow just a huuuuge thank you to all of you. I thought you'd all just consider me crazy with my vague descriptions and terrible drawing haha... But wow. You did it

Thank you all!!!!!

You're welcome.

We're always happy to help someone, especially when it comes to finding knives to spend money on!

I don't think I'm alone in saying that it's also fun to play "identify the knife".

I'd like to thank you, CairoBerette, for giving us immediate feedback about what we got right, and what was still missing. That made it much easier to narrow things down.

Haha I was checking the thread every 5 mins.... I was just crazy obsessed to figure out what it was! Spent the morning reading up on this knife. While I won't lie, I'm not a fan of AO, I will definitely be getting one of these

Thanks again all
