I received this knife as a gift, probably in about 1990. I'm trying to determine what model it is. I've searched the web and can find none exactly like it. Please help.

I'm not an expert, but I think that is the C04 Executive. One of the older models. Doesn't look like you've ever used it?

Well, it seems that I can't post any more pics for some reason but, the knife is identified as a SPYDERCO on one side and says SEKI - JAPAN on the other. The patent on the clip is 4347665. The knife is solid stainless steel, very hard SS, really tough to sharpen. Thanks a lot.

Meant to say this before and forgot. Thanks a lot for the ID. I guess since it is an old issue, that's why I couldn't find any info on it. Thanks again.

Yes it looks like an executive ,i have a serrated version of it.
Hope this helps,regards,rick.

Thanks folks. I know this sounds cheap, but does the Executive have any collectors value? I was considering putting it back into the carrying mode, should I or shouldn't I? Thanks a lot

Tom

In unused condition, with the original box, the Executive, has minor collector value with the plain edge having somewhat greater value than the serrated. But back when those knives were first sold, most dealers charged full MSRP for them, so "collector value" now would probably be break-even at best.

Given what you've said, if you like the knife, putting it back into carry mode would probably be best thing to do.

Isn't that what they're for?
Actually it is a nice edc .Not overly large to frighten the sheeple.LOL.
I personally believe in using my knives ,even though i have a few that don't get carried a whole lot. They at least see some pocket time.
Hope you enjoy yours.
regards,Rick.
