Please help me choose...

I own both and would choose the Kasper. It fits the hand more securely, and IMHO has the most utilitarian blade shape- thus draws fewer gasps from non knifers. Choice of steel is not much of an issue with me as I keep my knives sharp and do not complain when they need sharpening as I like sharpening knives (very zen). But then again I like CRKT more than any other company- best quality and selection for the price.

Wow. Thanks to each of you for your advice. All of the knives mentioned look great...I may not be able to pick just one. :D

You might consider one of the Kershaw/Ken Onion Speed Safe models.

My vote would be for a SOG Flash II.
Are these models one-handed closers as well?

I'm liking the Kershaw Tactical Blur and the Benchmade Mini-Griptilian Tanto a lot, too.

EDIT: I probably should mention that I'd be willing to purchase these knives used, if any of you would like to get rid of yours. Particularly the Endura or Delica in PE.

I'll second the recommendation for a griptillan - you want easy opening and one hand closing, and a great grip in the hand? Bang. You have the option of a stud or hole, a tanto if you want it, or spending a couple bucks more and getting the D2 model from Cabelas.

The only reason I don't EDC a Grip outdoors and a mini-Grip in town is because I EDC a 730CFS30V and 770D2, which sort of outclass them (at a seriously different price level, of course.)

If your price range is a hard line - the M16 is a decent knife. The 420J CRKT is a good design which has crappy steel.

I'd absolutely check the Knife Exchange forum here, and Ebay, and see if you can stretch your dollar to something better.

Thanks, Nick...I think I had pretty much settled on a Mini-Griptilian (for portability) and it's nice to hear another testimonial  I was very impressed with WadeF's videos demonstrating the Axis lock.

I am also going to get a Delica CE to keep in the car or as an alternate. Got a feeling that it won't be my last, though... :D
