Please help me figure out what knife it was ????

oops, missed the flipper mention, I know I handled something with a ball bearing plunge release a long time ago.
 
i wish i would remember more about it but i was under the age of 10 at the time. if i didn't know better i would think it was an emerson a100 with a ball in socket plunge button.

did benchmade make anything of that sort?

They have tons and tons of Axis lock knives, but none with flippers.
 
there was no lock on this knife, the ball was depressed to allow the blade to be released from the closed position and doubled as a open lock position release

Isn't that the definition of a knife lock, emphasis on the bold?
 
ha i guess so, i googled axis lock knife and it looked like there were slide locks so i was just trying to clarify, probably not doing the best job

yes the ball functioned just like that, however it was closer to the end of the handle and the ball was silver/ brushes stainless
