please help me find a small bladed fixed w/ big handle

Ok, I think I have a good one. If it is not a custom, or a Karambit style knife...How about the new Condor "bushcraft". They have two small wallnut handled knives, I think it is the bushcrafter. I believe they can be had in 2", 3", 4" blades with nice full handles. Hey, its a thought!

2, 4 & 5". Thanks though :)

Backhawk Kalista,
Tops FGX (long handle),
Tops Devil's Elbow XL,
Tops Wolf Pup XL,
Fred Perrin Mid-Tech Bowie,
Mantis TA-2 Seymore.
Just to name a few. Also, don't ever underestimate the power of the Emerson or Perrin Mid-Tech Lagriffe.

Thanks,

FGX:blade too long. Don't like handle
DEvil's Elbow: blade too short
Pup: blade too long

Mantis: definate possibility

I do carry some knives similar tot he Lagriffe, a great design.

The Helle Besseggen measures 7 1/2" overall with a 3 1/8" triple laminated stainless blade. Just an example, many scandinavian (puuko) styled knives have shorter blades and longer larger handles.

Seems like my Scrap Yard Mud Puppy LE has a big handle for a small(er) blade.

I'll second this suggestion. I don't have the Mudpuppy but the Scrapper 5 with the same handle. Looks like the mudpuppy has the blade size you're looking for and probably the most comfortable and usable handle of any knife ever. The resiprene C is also fairly light for it's size which would alleviate your concerns about being handle heavy.

^ I'd agree w/ the several who have suggested the Landi PSK- it's a tough knife (1095 1/8" stock), but still lightweight. Unlike a lot of smaller knives, the PSK handle is sized to fit well in the hand (at least in the medium-ish to large range)

the price point is quite reasonable for a quality custom knife as well
