Please help Mr. Becker new BK2

Welcome aboard! Hopefully, your questions have been answered and you will enjoy using that new knife.

One warning about the new laser etched logo; if you stare at it for 45 seconds then look at a white wall you see this:

Hey, if that's how he feels I have no problem with it. He has the right to have an opinion. That's why we are here, to help him out! Now he has a better outlook on BK&T but if we act like rude bastids.... What good is that going to do?
 
I like both the coating and etching. But I can see where a person might not care for the new stuff. But, the steel is the same. You're getting the same knife. Just looks different.
 
Totally understandable gripe IMO. I see where he's coming from at least. This happens all the time in the automobile world. People moan and complain with re-releases of vintage cars all the time (read: new mustang, camaro, etc.) because the new model changes a classic feature or updates and adjusts things that modernize/improve something and the traditionalists/purists throw up their arms in a fit. Even though the newer model may be of the same quality or even GREATER quality, people don't want the changes made to the gadget, knife, car that they fell in love with in the first place.
 
I like the changes personally. The older design was fantastic, and (imo) the new one is fantasticer. Heh. You could strip yours if you don't like the new coating. If you want, send me a new one and I'll send you my old one (my edge is now convexed and my coating is showing wear but whatever).

The old coating wasn't very good. If you really don't want to strip/patina your BK2, the new coating will last longer.
 
use it, work it, hammer on it, have a good time. if you don't like it? spray paint it purple and orange, and sell it as a custom :D
 
my bk2 is the old finish and stamp my bk11 is the new stuff i like them both but then i'm easy too please!! lol
