Please help! My slippie addiction is bad...

CJ "I hope I was not too cold/harsh in my opine" not at all ! i think our similar past histories means if we could sit down and have a chat, we'd find a lot of things we agree on. like "personal accountability", etc.
i love knives and i love BF and spend lots of enjoyable time here. plus the knowledge learned adds relevance to the knives in my collection.
but i sense there may be some dislike, or avoidance, of serious topics by some BF members. if so, why ? BF is THE forum to discuss and share our knowledge and experiences relating to knives. is only superficiality or tongue-in-cheek permissible ? i hope not, for knife collecting affects us all in many and different ways. i see no benefit from limitations as long as it is dialogue rather than strictly monologue.

I plan on going out with a GIGANTIC overdraft so it may not be such a great idea :D But I am happy to leave you a slippie or 2 ;)

It's the "being of sound mind" part that might present a wee problem:foot:

I suppose the quality and extent of your collection will have to speak to that.

(Sounds like a bit of a Catch-22 if you ask me. ;)...

...If you have all those great knives, you couldn't be crazy.

You must be crazy if you have all those knives...)

Blues, i think your "bequeathal service" good be worked into a real service.
i'm sure many knife collectors leave interesting collections to offspring who have no idea what to do with "dad's huge buncha knives", esp. those with wierd names like: Scagel, Moreseth, Bose, Case Bros., etc.
well, we could help !

On a serious note, I actually plan to do something of the sort with and through my brother, "Bastid" and a foundation he is creating.

"a foundation he is creating", Interesting. i hope we hear some specifics at the appropriate time.
it would be very nice to know that some of one's knives could contribute to the well being of others, as a last thought and good-by to one's knives.
